In 1980, Irina Vilarino and her family arrived in Florida from Cuba during the Mariel boat lift, seeking freedom and opportunity. Starting with a humble fruit stand, her family’s hard work and determination led them to establish several successful restaurants and real estate ventures. Irina’s upbringing taught her the value of perseverance and she applies this ethos to all aspects of her life.
As a resident of Doral, Irina is deeply concerned about the city’s current trajectory. The lack of transparency, declining morale among law enforcement, and alarming rise in crime motivate her to run for the open council seat.
Irina holds degrees from Stetson University and Florida International University, where her real-world experiences in leading her family’s business have shaped her views on the economy and the American Dream. Having lived it herself, Irina is passionate about preserving the opportunity for success for other families seeking a better life. She and her fifteen-year-old daughter are active members of Epiphany Catholic Church.
We deserve better! Our residents deserve a government that prioritizes transparency. As a candidate for the Doral City Council, I am committed to advocating for your interests, not special interests. I pledge to be your dedicated ally on the council, steadfastly focused on representing you, the residents.
Meaningful traffic relief is essential for our city’s well-being. Now is the time to direct our efforts toward enhancing the main East-West corridors. Despite years of promises, little has changed. We must explore innovative technological solutions to streamline commuter times and facilitate efficient movement throughout our city.
In recent years, the surge in crime within our city has become impossible to ignore. We must prioritize increasing the number of patrol officers on our streets, restoring officer morale, and ensuring they have access to the resources they need to safeguard our community. Together, we can create a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
As your councilwoman, I am committed to maintaining low taxes for our community. I will prioritize strengthening our city’s reserves and staunchly oppose any unnecessary spending of your hard-earned tax dollars. Your financial well-being is my top priority and I will work tirelessly
